Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Candidly, I am so sick of all the protein bars in my pantry and in the store but I actually need them. I mean need maybe isn’t the right word but as a busy mom always on the go who is also currently experiencing weird changes in my appetite and cravings, a combo of chocolate and peanut butter truly always hits the spot. But my body needs more than a reeses most times of the day - yours too, so these are such a win. (side note you can have reeses whenever you want too but these pack a little more nutrition!)

These were so good and so easy to make and my husband and I ate the entire pan within 3 days LOL

You can customize flavors and ingredients and honestly this recipe isnt that different from my energy bites recipe but sometimes even a different shape can make things taste different!

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup peanut butter

  • ⅓ cup honey or maple syrup

  • 2 tablespoons ghee

  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats

  • 2-4 scoops chocolate Pronativ protein powder (use code 15OFFJENNAW on amazon to save)

  • pinch of salt

  • chocolate chips - measure with your heart

  • ¼ cup hemp seeds (you can also use chia or flax or all the above!)

*a few subs besides the seeds: you can use the vanilla or strawberry protein powder, you can use coconut oil or ghee, any nut butter you prefer, you can add in pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds or chopped nuts! Play around with ingredients and make these fun - honestly you can use m&ms instead of chocolate chips, you can add in craisins or raisins, go crazy!

Directions:

  • Get a pan and line it with parchment paper (8×8 or similar)

  • Take PB, ghee and maple syrup and place in a microwave safe bowl, heating until melted and combine well, do small increments so nothing burns but mix wel!

  • Add remaining ingredients - but save chocolate for last

  • Mix well

  • If you use 4 scoops of protein powder it can be a little dry so add in a little water until oats are fully covered but not drenched! and mix until combined well.

  • Press into pan and smooth out

  • Then refrigerate until hard!

  • Store refrigerated

ENJOY!!!!

XO,

Jenna
